Good evening
A late departure
And my voice is spent
My mind ran all day
It wound up running to nowhere
Thankfully now
My blue eyes focus on
Words that are the end result
Of a letter I once should have sent
A long time ago
Second-guessing
And cartoon character lament
Here I am, reader
Now listen
I cry with conviction
And smile with precision
When I look at someone
I take in the everything
Of what they give off
Akin to bats upside-down in a cave
No judgment cast
No conclusion past
It's just me
Forming a photo in my mind's eye
I promise
Just like I think twice
Before dreaming creamy dreams
The yummy kind
That seem real when I wake
I'll die trying to tell my story
And this is yet another chapter
Read on
If you want to ride along
Words behind the verse: blue, cartoon, bats and creamy
